With these small paintings I celebrate watercolour doing the things that please my sense of aesthetic most; the marks and textures which appear when guided, but not totally controlled, by the maker. Marks that are evocative of the patterns and textures of the natural world, from stones and shells to the images we see of the cosmos. Embossing shapes then brings a subtle point of focus where the light and shadows can play through the piece.
